BakGat Radio

BakGat Radio is a place where all genres of South African music come together. It is a platform that celebrates home grown talent and it celebrates the diverse nature of our wonderful country. We like to reflect this diversity in the time slots where we play our SA Rotation. We do also recognise that not everyone has an eclectic taste in music, and therefore the schedule contains both genre specific shows and time slots. We also schedule our "BakGat Playlist" - a selection of new and old music handpicked for your pleasure - on a regular basis throughout each day.

BakGat Radio is only available on the internet and therefore by default also on your cellphone. We stream at 32 bits per second. You can listen to us for over 9 hours for the cost of only 1 MB of data, or if you have access to a wi-fi network... for nothing.
